Salon show with Steven Rendall at Sarah Scout Presents
Andrea Eckersley and Steven Rendall present collaborations that exist on the borderlands between painting and fashion in the far-away faint glimmer of a consciousness more acute: adorned and combined. Rendall's painted and collaged plastic fragments are sympathetically dressed and adorned by Eckersley with garment-like coverings. The exhibition's title derives from Henry James’ short story, The Turn of the Screw, where the governess identifies her own delayed dawn of an idea in the housekeeper’s impassive misunderstanding. Like the faint glimmers in James’ text, Eckersley and Rendall have discovered a generative opportunity to construct unfamiliar and uncomfortable aesthetic arrangements.
